Service learning is a way for
students to reach out to others in the community, broaden
perspectives about the greater context of their world and instill a
value for contributing back to the community from which they come.
In order to fulfill our goal of “global thinking,” students are
required to complete 15+ hours of community service over the course
of the school year to complete the 5 points necessary for
extracurricular activities.
The North Cobb School for
International Studies will keep students abreast of service projects
and activities available in the Metro-Atlanta area during the school
year. This includes activities on the school, local, and
Atlanta-area levels. Students must complete the “Community Service
Hours Approval Form.” This will need to be turned into the Magnet
Coordinator
prior to completing a service project and will be returned for the
student to get the signature of the adult overseeing the activity. |
